Our Advanced Mathematics Division in Portland, OR is seeking a talented EE / MechE / CompE / CS / Physics / Math intern to be part of a strong team of scientists and engineers in pursuit of applied research and development of effective and efficient solutions to National Security Systems problems.  The applicant should have a basic proficiency with designing and building electrical and mechanical devices, an understanding of the basic principles of computer hardware and software, a passion for applied mathematics, as well as an ability to think critically and creatively.  The successful candidate will assist in the design, implementation, deployment and testing of prototype underwater sonar systems.   We are looking for candidates who are eager to get involved with a team where they will play an important role.  The ideal candidate should thrive in a collaborative environment, but also be a self-starter and be willing to work independently.  Having the ability to be resourceful in the face of unfamiliar problems is a key trait.

We routinely apply stochastic processes, statistical inference, optimization and scheduling, models of random graphs and applied physics to develop the underlying theory and applications for our clients.
