  • Job Description

    Our Unmanned Systems group is looking to add a talented Research Scientist with a background in autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, robotics, and/or evolutionary computation. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for advanced research and development in autonomy and unmanned systems, including design, implementation, deployment and/or testing of hardware and software. We strongly value innovative research experience, inquisitiveness and insight. A successful candidate will be passionate about researching, designing, and implementing innovative algorithms for ground breaking autonomous systems solutions.

    Desired Qualifications

    • MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Statistics, or applicable engineering field
    • Autonomous vehicles or systems experience and/or research in:
      • artificial intelligence
      • robotics
      • machine learning
      • optimization, and/or
      • learning-enabled systems
    • 2+ years programming experience in JAVA and/or C++
    • Solid background in mathematics, statistics
    • US Citizenship required
    • Active Secret Clearance preferred, not required

    Strongly desired:

    • Experience with Science & Technology sponsors (DARPA, IARPA, ONR, NASA) and/or vehicles (BAA, SBIR) a plus
    • Proposal writing experience
    • Research or industry experience with any of the following:
      • Scala or other functional programming
      • anomaly detection and prediction
      • neural networks
      • evolutionary computation
      • control theory
      • cooperative behaviors 
      • multi-agent systems
