  • Job Description

    The OASiS division is immediately seeking a Network Administrator/Information System Security Manager with expertise in Windows, Unix and Linux operating systems, and the National Industrial Security Program.  This person will play an integral role in the day-to-day operation of our office. 

     

    Network Administrator Duties (including but not limited to):

    • Document instructions, system and network changes, as well as ongoing and resolved issues
    • Support a wide variety of (primarily) Windows end-user software
    • Provide IS purchase recommendations, analysis of requirements, possible improvements, and other IS solutions
    • Support Windows based network
    • Install and troubleshoot software and hardware on Windows and Linux systems

     

    Information System Security Manager Duties (including but not limited to):

    • Maintain an IS Security Program, coordinating with the Facility Security Officer
    • Implement and enforce the IS Security Policy
    • Review bulletins and advisories that impact the security posture of information systems under your purview
    • Perform periodic vulnerability testing using approved tools to evaluate the security posture of the information systems
    • Ensure all IS Users receive the necessary Information Assurance and Security Training
    • Maintain (keep current) all information system certification/accreditation documentation per mandated policies
    • Coordinate all external information systems audits and reviews
    • Update Anti-Virus, and System and Software Patches as required on a continual basis, and update POA/M as required
    • Review system(s) security posture and audit logs as required by NISPOM to ensure compliance with a C/A documentation package
    • Coordinate responses to security incidents, and investigate and report security violations and incidents as appropriate, coordinating with the Facility Security Officer
    • Develop and implement change management policy and procedures for authorizing use of hardware/software on an information system
    • Ensure systems and data are protected, operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and practices as outlined in the certification and accreditation document package
    • Train all personnel in the use of all IT equipment

    Desired Qualifications

    • Active DoD FINAL SECRET of higher clearance, as well as the ability to hold and maintain specific security clearances
    • In-depth knowledge and experience (at least 5 years) of systems functions, security policies, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures
    • Solid understanding of Windows and Linux based Operating Systems
    • Solid understanding of networking: TCP/IP, Ports, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Switch/Router configuration, and Security
    • Solid understanding of current best practices for Information Assurance and System/Network Security
    • Excellent communication skills: written, presentation, and spoken
    • Collaborative and educational approach to system users
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills
    • Excellent time-management and organization
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize based on urgency
    • Familiarity with documentation and tools such as:  NISPOM, DOD 8500 Series, NIST Special Publications (800-53, 800-37, etc.); SNAC Guides, DISA STIGs, Gold Disk, Nessus, WSUS, ePolicy Orchestrator, etc.
    • Quick comprehension and desire to continue growing and learning in the Information Assurance and Security Field
    • Experience working in a secure environment
    • US Citizenship is required

     

    Certifications:

    • One of the following:  CISSP, CISM or GSLC
    • Additional helpful certifications:  CISA, C|EH, Security+, CCNA, Linux+, Network+, E|NSA, Microsoft, Red Hat

    Position Location:  San Diego, CA (Carmel Valley office location)

     

    This position WILL NOT provide paid relocation.
