  • Job Description

    Metron, Inc. is seeking a Human Factors Engineer responsible primarily for human factors standards compliance. This position will work under direction of senior personnel to support product development teams by providing research and design inputs related to human capabilities and product interactions, the development of user requirements, participating in risk analysis, creating and structuring product evaluations, conducting usability assessments to inform design, and contributing to the design validation of software.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop user needs and requirements
    • Collaborate with internal and external staff providing input into usability study protocols and reports
    • Author test plans, protocols, and reports
    • Moderate studies, and analyze data, and compile results and findings for multidisciplinary teams of engineers, developers, and executives
    • Input into usability specifications including user profiles, use environments, intended use, intended training, etc.
    • Contribute to Task Analysis and Use Error assessments to identify critical and essential tasks
    • Contribute to HFE documentation needed for creating Usability Engineering File

    Desired Qualifications

    Required Experiences and Qualifications

    • BS degree in Human Factors / Usability Engineering, HCI (Human computer Interaction) or a related technical discipline
    • A minimum of 3 years of Human Factors experience is required for this role
    • Experience in the area of defense, scientific consulting, or robotics is a plus
    • Familiarity with applicable HF regulations and with ISO, FDA, International regulations, and ASTM standards is a plus
    • US Citizenship required, position will require background investigation to authorize access to classified information
