    As a Mechanical Designer Drafter, you will be responsible for 3D modeling and drafting using SolidWorks, as well as component assembly as it relates to marine engineering within the CETUS division.  This role will report to the Sr. Engineer and will work very closely with other engineers in the Research & Development projects, as needed. Ideally we are looking for someone capable of design and fabrication using SolidWorks to support R&D projects that will take a creative mindset and an ability to adapt to a fast paced environment.  Please note this is a temporary role to support an increased work load and this role may continue as the work continues to increase for the CETUS division.

     

    Mechanical Designer Drafter Responsibilities:

    • Designing and drafting, using 3D CAD Solidworks, of parts, tooling, molds, and fixtures
      • Will develop conceptual models for presentations
      • Will refine space claim models for manufacturing
      • Will develop manufacturing drawing packages
      • Will prepare assembly drawings and instructions
    • Work with design team to resolve design and drafting discrepancies
    • Knowledge of fabrication and assembly practices, tools and fixturing
    • Proficient technical writing skills are a plus

    Desired Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Proficiency in SolidWorks
    • Associates degree in design modeling drafting or equivalent preferable
    • 2+ years’ experience designing and drafting in Solidworks in a professional environment
    • US Citizenship required
    • Available to work immediately as this is a temporary position, between 6-12 months
