Job Description

Metron’s OASIS division is seeking a talented and enthusiastic systems engineer with software testing experience for marine related R&D projects. At Metron, we value innovative research experience, inquisitiveness and insight.

In this position, you will support the testing and deployment of underwater vehicles.  The successful candidate will coordinate testing schedules with software developers, engineers, marine craft personnel, and Government decision makers; assist with developing and executing test plans that exercise software controlling underwater vehicles, some of which involve  hands-on support during at sea on barges and/or rigid hull inflatable boats (RHIB). The successful candidate will also assist the Test Engineer with reconstruction of events via analysis of logs and with preparation of after action reports.

 

Desired Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:

  • BS in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required
  • 2+ years of experience required
  • Ability to work in a team environment composed of software developers, hardware engineers, analysts, boat operators, and Government decision makers required
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required
  • Experience with construction, adaptation, and enforcement of schedules required
  • Experience executing standard operating procedures and tests highly preferred
  • Experience with marine vehicles/environments highly preferred
  • Experience with acoustic communications modeling software such as PC-IMAT highly preferred
  • Familiarity with software/hardware integration, highly preferred
  • Linux background and Java knowledge a plus
  • Some travel may be required
  • U.S. Citizenship and maintenance of DoD Secret security clearance required (prior clearance not required, Metron will initiate clearance investigation with selected candidate)

Position Location:  San Diego, CA
